Steve Hoel

Managing Principal, Senior Structural Engineer
As a managing principal of JSH Engineering, Steve Hoel is responsible for delivering cost effective, innovating structural solutions for the firms most notable projects. Steve brings over thirty-five years of structural engineering experience to the firm, and is involved in all phases of JSH projects from initial design through to completion of construction.
Steve’s extensive knowledge of structural systems has helped make JSH successful in providing value-added engineering solutions to residential projects, mixed use projects, commercial building projects, warehouse building projects, industrial facilities, naval facilities, recreational facilities, office building projects, and marine structures.
Steve believes in progressing the values of acting with fairness, courtesy, and good faith towards his clients, and the growing design team he mentors. He believes in passing on his knowledge for the betterment of his community and future generations of engineers. A 1985 graduate from UBC with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering in, Steve spent 25 years working with several well-established and reputable structural engineering firms in Victoria, BC before forming JSH Engineering Ltd in 2005. He takes pride in the contributions he has made to the growth of his home, and across Vancouver Island.
